Sincere Apologies!!!

I get the feeling I've upset people, for one reason or another.  Yes, I am opinionated, but in the end isn't that what blogs are about, our innermost thoughts and feelings?  I don't set out to hurt people, I truly don't, and I apologise if I have done so.  I'm not a fascist or racist, not a Communist either, though I'm pretty much left of centre, and what I am primarily is a Christian, who has lots of questions but few real answers.

What I've always tried to do is create debate, genuine debate, where we don't all have to agree, but where we can agree to be agreeable at least.  One other thing I've always strived to be is honest, ruthlessly honest.  That doesn't mean that everything I write is correct or I am infallible, but it means that my intent is to get to the truth, and not to harm or upset anyone, for any reason.

So, if I have upset or offended anyone, by anything I've written, I apologise unreservedly and say that it was never meant.

  1. Tim,
I have to say that I was very surprised to see this post on your blog as I can not see what would upset anyone in your posts. I believe that you are an honest person who writes as he feels with transparency. I know that all that I may say in my blog, and all that others may say in their blogs, might not be in total agreement with everyone's views, but surely that is what 'conversations on line' are about - getting to know one another. I absolutely believe that this is how the Lord would have us to be, and I also believe that in all the blogs that are interacting here I see differences, but I see nothing that would cause offence, only diversities that would encourage discussions. If we were all in a room I believe we would all be enjoying a coffee or a tea and one another's company. If there has been offence caused unintentionally then I would hope that the one or ones offended would speak about it so that it could be discussed, as I am sure the Lord would encourage us to do to bring about unity. God bless you.

  2. Hey Tim, you didn't upset me at all :) I'm not sure why anyone would be offended by your posts. I've had trouble with posting on your blogs. Not sure why and hopefully this one will post okay ;)

    1. Hi Lori. Well, this is what started me off; I tried to post a few things on your blog and it kept telling me 'only members allowed to post' or words to that effect, and I just thought I'd upset you, although I couldn't think how. Like you and most of the bloggers whose blogs I love reading, I am a Christian and I would be mortified if I upset someone. I suppose I am opinionated, but only to get at some truth. I am really glad you told me I didn't upset you! :~)

  3. I agree with everything Brenda said. Why would you feel you offended anyone. I hope this doesn't mean you'll be tempering your post's from now on because of one person you think you offended.

  4. Tim,
There is absolutely nothing offending about any of your posts!
You are a brilliant writer whose many of your opinions I agree with.
Here in England often the churches are viewed as "The Tory Party on its knees" - and it is so refreshing to read of your ideas which bears a resemblance to my ideas on what Christians should be more like, more compassionate for those who is not in their league, more on the love of Christ and less hang ups on the status quo.
I strongly encourage you to keep writing - and if some people are offended by some of the contents of your blogs, it shows that you have packed some punch!
    God bless,
    Frank.

  5. Hi Tim,
You have not upset me either. I have, though, been pondering how to respond to you as I am not a fluent writer and I rely on the Holy Spirit for direction and words so if He doesn't give me anything, I just don't write.

    Blessings,
    <><

  6. Tim, I had to come back and say this. Be careful that whatever it is that has troubled you does not stop you from writing and interacting on the blog. Do not forget that it is a spiritual warfare that goes on and there is a spiritual enemy which would try to cause division and separation. I and I am sure everyone else who reads your blog would say that you are an interesting and valuable contributor. As far as page views are concerned I think you are about nearly five times ahead of me so I do not think there is a lack of people interested in reading what you have to say, so I hope you would not let whatever is troubling you stop you from writing on this blog. Just be yourself as you have been doing, that is how you draw your readers. God bless

  7. This is for all my blog friends who have left nice comments; no, I won't stop writing about what might be controversial things, and I hope God really guides me to keeping it real. Thanks Brenda, Lori, Sateigdra, COG and Frank for the kind comments. I wouldn't want any of you to change, and I am glad you don't want me to change. :~)

    1. Thanks Lloyd; I appreciate your comment and your very kind words. We have a nice little growing community of Christians in this blogosphere; it's my surrogate church!
